The Nightmare is a documentary film by Rodney Ascher, who previous directed Room 237, and is about 8 people who tells their nightmare experiences from their sleep paralysis. I was looking forward to this documentary as it seems like it'll be relatable to me and looked interesting to me.

The first act, I wasn't really quite hooked on it as I thought would be which got me worried if the documentary is always going to be about their nightmare experiences. It was mainly about it, but it does take a bit of a breather and tells why it's happening, sort of.

The Nightmare doesn't get doctors or scientists to tell us about why they get the sleep paralysis and why they always get nightmares from it, which would've been more interesting if they've done that.

I got scared twice as the scares were really effective, and the end gets really interesting. The nightmares reenactment are really good and really give the creep factor to the viewers. The Nightmare is a good documentary that is an interesting idea to talk about, but it could've been expanded for me to be more interested.
