Review of The Night of the Sunflowers (2006) by Petros V — 01 Oct 2008
Set in rural Spain in a town which looks as though it will eventually fall prey to urbanisation, the film is split into several segments looking at a chain events from different perspectives. After a harrowing but bravely shot near rape scene, the film slows to a snails pace and never regains the tension is should hold over the audience.
The slow realisation by the Police Chief of what is actually happening is the film's main strong point but with an ending which was disappointingly lacklustre this film is not really worth the bother.
