Review of The Night of the Hunter (1955) by James H — 03 Aug 2009
It is very unfortunate that this is Charles Laughton's only directorial effort. He does an absolutely brilliant job. This is one of the finest movies from the 1950's, and is certainly one of Robert Mitchum's best performances of his career.
The imagery is breathtaking, suspenseful, great score and incredible cinematography.
