Review of The Night of the Hunter (1955) by Sarfaraz A — 03 Jul 2012
I recently re-watched this movie, for because ever since I have watched this movie, it has been haunting me. I keep receiving hallucinations about murky plight of those children at the mercy of this walking evil called Harry Powell (Robert Mitchum).
It is a complete dark-film, with sustaining story, macabre situation, bizarre cinematography to keep the scenes in full horror! Robert Mitchum is one hell of a walking-terror in this one of finest pictures of last century.
I loved and I almost cried at the scene of children seeking refuge in stable, while Mitchum horse-rides far across in silhouette! This movie should always taunt me with unforgettable performance from Robert Mitchum.
