Review of The Night of the Hunter (1955) by Wesley R — 21 May 2008
This film plays out like a creepy fairytale about how evil can come in any form. The acting is amazing. Robert Mitchum's performance assures Harry Powell as one of the most memorable and purely evil characters in cinematic history.
The cinematography is also astounding at conveying a fairytale atmosphere to a horrifying real situation.
