Fantastic and unforgettable movie. Mitchum is more than superb as a perfectly evil wolf in sheep's clothing. Laughton's direction is perfectly toned - creating a world of fear, love, and greed that is both completely unreal and totally engrossing.
I really, really liked this movie.
