Review of The Night of the Hunter (1955) by Kenny M — 09 May 2011
Great movie. One of Mitchum's most haunting performances as the evil preacher Harry Powell. This is a near perfect movie, only the ending leaves a lot to be desired. The dark scenes where you hear Powell singing a hymn in the distance are some of the most memorable scenes, which had to inspire the creepy preacher from Poltergeist 2.
