Great performances by Robert Mitchum and Lillian Gish representing good and evil in this classic film. In Charles Laughton's only directing credit, The Night of the Hunter tells the tale of a fake preacher played by Mitchum who gets involved with the family of a fellow cell mate played by Peter Graves.
Suspenseful drama interwoven with biblical parables and song, this film hits the mark as a suspenseful classic. It's not terribly long and delivers a quality movie experience. Mitchum is creepy and Gish is great! Enjoy!
