One of the most unique movies to come out of Hollywood's Golden Age. This is an expressionistic, stylish, fable about good and evil with an unbelievable central performance by Mitchum. The children's odyssey down the Ohio River is a bravura piece of movie making which leaves you saddened that this is the only film Laughton ever made.
