Review of The Night of the Hunter (1955) by Paul E — 13 Jan 2012
A creepy classic. It's a bit over-the-top at times (though I'm sure that's on purpose) and some of the acting is histrionic (again, likely on purpose). But, there are set pieces that are beautiful and scary at the same time.
The cinematography and set design are particularly excellent. Mitchum's great, as are the kids.
