Review of The Night of the Hunter (1955) by Jenny W — 10 Sep 2012
An interesting take on horror exploring the perspective of a child, The Night of the Hunter is a slightly lesser-known classic that makes one think in a different way about the purpose of set, dialogue tone, and camera angles.
The emotions you are supposed to feel are presented immediately in the forefront, and, I must say, there is an overwhelming artistic mood to each scene. There are a few portions that are a little overbearing with inconsistencies.
However, if one can move beyond that, it is a memorable piece that will pop in your mind every now and then.
