Review of The Night Listener (2006) by Hugh W — 19 Jul 2007
Uninspiring, confusing, and with a weaker script than that program with all the beautifully plastic people they used to air on Channel 5. You know the one?
And why do we suddenly, and misguidedly, shift into pseudo-thriller territory once Williams heads out to investigate the dodgy coughing kid? He goes to ferret out a possible lie, and abruptly, there is creepy music like there's a psycho killer on the rampage. PLEASE!?!
He doesn't even know the kid!
Or is there something i've missed to do with the abuse..? Maybe he's been through all that before, and then became gay.
Either way, though the actors present make a good effort (Donna is unsurprisingly faultless) of such a poor script, you're bound to find this in the Tesco bargain box for all of £1.99 within a week.
Maybe a month. :).
