Review of The Night Listener (2006) by Tyrone H — 14 Aug 2009
I was really misled by the trailer for this movie. It gave the impression that that this was some kind of psychological thriller. Not that I really wanted to watch that type of film but I make an effort to watch anything with either Robin Williams or Toni Collete.
This movie turned out to be something else entirely. It's about lonliness and wanting to be loved. It's also about the psycological damage that child abuse can cause. I was not suprised to find out that this movie was based on true events and was happy to be carried on the journey undertaken by Robin Williams until he eventually comes to terms with his relationship with Toni Colletes charcter and how that effected his outlook on his life and relationships.
