Review of The Night Before (2015) by Greg B — 24 Nov 2015
"The Night Before" is a tale about three guys who want to get into an exclusive party called The Nutcrackers Ball on Christmas Eve. They have partied on the holidays together for fifteen years, and this is to be their swan song.
I found the film admittedly funny but utterly puerile and disjointed. Seth Rogen is funny but even his antics can't make up for this hamfisted mess. The plot is all over the place and pays too much homage to drug use.
The scattered aspect of the film is so overwhelming that it's hard to tell what direction the film is taking half the time. What ensues is a stylistic mess with too many storylines and no sense of direction ----------------------------------------- C+.
