Review of The Night Before (2015) by Dixit D — 21 Feb 2016
Maybe it's because I had heard such mixed reactions in advance, but I thoroughly enjoyed The Night Before in a way I didn't expect. There are quite a few elements of surprise peppered throughout (largely in the way of cameos or full on supporting characters in the form of respected dramatic actors) that make it a stronger film altogether.
That's not to say that the plot isn't strong enough to carry the movie - it is. The chemistry between these three guys (not as strong a fit as, say, Seth & James or Jonah & Michael Cera) is undeniable.
Their arcs might be less-than-relatable, but you can understand why they behave the way that they do, and end up liking their characters fairly immediately.
