Crazy Christmas.
The Night Before is a Christmas surprise. It's funny, emotional, with great characters and great relationships. It is not the next Christmas classic, but it is a fun ride.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt remains to be one of the best actors working today. He continues his streak of good movies with The Night Before. Seth Rogan also has been making great comedies as of late and with Mackie these 3 make a great group of friends with tons of chemistry. It's messages about friendship as well as love. It is definitely a more adult Christmas story.
The story is cliche and very predictable, but is still a very sweet and charming film. Though not very consistent it adds up to be a serviceable Christmas film worth rewatching.
Overall the night before is a fun film, thanks to its jokes and its characters.
Rating: 7.8 (B+).
