Review of The Night Before (2015) by Ekene O — 10 May 2016
This is yet another unoriginal if entertaining Judd Apatow clone. Seasoned movie buffs could probably accurately summarize the plot just by the trailer itself. Three man-children, immature and with a proclivity for casual substance abuse.
Crass humor, sex jokes, a couple of cameos, comic violence all building up a climax in which the protagonists get their act together and begin life anew with their newfound maturity. I might have just summarized the plot of Knocked Up, Trainwreck, Zack and Miri, just to name a few.
But it is still ninety minutes of solid fun. This movie is like craving a slice of your regular cheese and tomato over gourmet.
