I really wanted to like this one more. I quite enjoyed the previous film from this team, "50/50", but this one just doesn't quite work as well. The major issue I had is the uneven tone, it tries to be sentimental, but has extreme raunchiness, and then there's a mystical element to it.

I feel if they had played it a little more straight, it would have been much better. That being said, I did laugh out lour a couple times and loved Michael Shannon's supporting role. Worth a watch if you like the cast, otherwise skip it.
