Review of The Night Before (2015) by Jason C — 13 Dec 2015
There is no story to The Night Before. There is, but just to keep the jokes going. And there are a lot of jokes. The movie is a number of running jokes with a simple ending. Gordon-Levitt and Rogen have a bit of chemistry as shown in 50/50, and when you add Mackie, you get three guys with a bit of chemistry seemingly having a good time making a movie. One... HUGE... surprise is over-the-top hilarious. Jonathan Levine isn't getting any better as a director. I'd imagine he would improve slightly through time, but nothing yet.
The Night Before isn't worth going out of your way to see, but it would be alright to watch next year when you can see it free or for a dollar.
