Review of The Nick of Time (1939) by Jamie S — 15 Jun 2007
This movie goes where virtually no film has ever gone. Unlike many movies where weeks, months, or even years are compressed into a two hour story (making for very fragmented flow), Nick of Time takes a 90-minute plot and turns it into, guess what, a 90-minute movie.
Christopher Walken plays guess what, a scary bad guy. He finds Johnny Depp's character getting off a train with his daughter and offers a deal (well, not really a deal since it's something I'd never want to be offered).
Kill the governor in the next hour and a half, or your daughter dies. It's a moral play. Can a guy who would never hurt a fly go so far as to knock off a public figure in order to save his family?
