Review of The Nick of Time (1939) by Victor L — 03 Jan 2008
:rotten: Nick of Time is another formulaic thriller that doesn't bring anything new to the genre, neither it is entertaining nor exciting. First, Johny Depp looks terribly miscasted, I mean the role he played here is too passive and weak considering we're talking about the man who portrayed Jack Sparrow, Edward Scissorhands and Ed Wood, bad election however Depp gave the best to try to save this cold suspense movie.
Christopher Walken played a great villain that wasn't enough either to save the film. I was tired of this picture after half an hour to watch it but I decided to finish watching this. Nick of Time improves a little its bad level at the end, the picture leaves many doubts and unsolved problems expecting to make a sequel.
.. I think it is very unlikely to happen but the movie will carry this hole forever. Final grade: Could be entertaining for a remote someone, but I don't really recommend it.
