Review of The Nice Guys (2016) by Carfan1999 — 11 Aug 2016
The Nice Guys is a blast. This old school 1970's crime comedy is hilarious with the way it makes fun of the 70's and a lot of the jokes land perfectly. The story is great because plot questions get answered along the way, making the audience be involved every step of the way.
The turns are unexpected and there are serious moments to balance out the great comedy. Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling have great chemistry chemistry and provide top- notch performances. The only two drawbacks I have for this is that it's a bit too vulgar with nudity and sex- related talk.
In addition, despite the acting, the characters aren't worth caring for and some are way over the top. Overall, while it lacks emotion, The Nice Guys is simply a fun movie with fine acting and a well- written story that's involved and hilariously funny.
