Review of The Nice Guys (2016) by Blacksun — 09 Jul 2016
Absolutely horrible. Set it in the "fun" 70's, make Ryan Gosling an bumbling idiot, make Russel Crow fat and add a wacky plot with fun hi-jinks. A recipe for success right? Wrong. Clearly the result of too many writers or too much clueless producer influence, this movie is flat out horrible.
The plot is Over-written and full of logic holes. You stop caring right about the same time you get sick of the dialog and half-assed musical score. As for the dialog, for a movie that relies on wit, this movie has almost none. On top of that, the involvement of the kids in the sex and violence is unsettling. I actually love a good detective comedy/thriller/drama but this has to be one of the worst ever made.
One good thing though, it can tell you who the idiots in real life are. Just ask them if they loved the film.
