Review of The Nice Guys (2016) by Nola(N)Brams R — 13 Jan 2017
'The Nice Guys' is a disappointing but well directed film with weird and enjoyable characters. The humor didn't work for me all the way throughout the film, but when it did; it really did! The film shines all due to Russell Crowe & Ryan Gosling's stunning performance & natural chemistry. I however found the plot a bit uneven. They kept going from different locations and characters, to different plot lines over and over -- the movie lost my interest after the first act and didn't pay off until the ending. I expected more of this action/thriller/comedy. The cinematography, editing and the awesome and relatable characters are however a gigantic plus.
Personal rating: 63/100.
Critical rating: 75/100.
