The Nice Guys contains delightful on-screen chemistry between Gosling and Crowe which potentially rivals that of Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, and displays Ryan Gosling's knack for physical comedy and spot-on comedic delivery.
Shane Black has certainly not forgotten how to write hilarious comedy, but The Nice Guys simply doesn't have the same quantity of jokes as KKBB did, ultimately making The Nice Guys a more effective detective story, but a less effective comedy.
