Review of The Next Three Days (2010) by Des S — 19 Jul 2011
This movie tries very hard to be a family oriented version of the Fugitive from a different vantage point. It tries and it fails. However, it does succeed at other things. Russell Crowe is extremely convincing as a man out of his depth and at the end of his rope, trying to keep his family together.
Nobody else really steals the attention away from him and a few of the scenes seem convoluted and detached. The first 1/3 of the movie suffers from stitched together plot points and less than appealing acting.
As a Russell Crowe fan, I would have preferred that the movie surround him with a more seasoned cast, but overall this movie can be watched once and be entertaining. Never again though... never again.
