Review of The Next Three Days (2010) by Peter N — 23 Sep 2012
Russell Crowe manages to make the occasional intelligent thriller that ends up flying slightly under the mainstream radar. The Next Three Days isn't quite as good as some of them, but it still manages to be a solid thriller, and worth watching/discussing among a group of friends on a slow weekend night.
Top notch performances by its actors, as well as another solid directing job by Paul Haggis make this film at least worth checking out. The story itself is kind of muddled and a little bit too ridiculous to be taken seriously, but fortunately the film somewhat redeems itself by not relying too heavily on the plot alone.
