Review of The Next Three Days (2010) by Dov D — 06 Oct 2012
Beginning horrifyingly uninspired, Paul Haggis's The Next Three Days slowly gained momentum as the plot began to pick up, and with it, Russell Crowe's gradual descent into madness. He becomes so obsessed with his plan that nothing (SPOILERS), not even his wife admitting her guilt or their son not making it out with them, would stop him.
Ironically, it was his wife who eventually made him realize the error of his ways. That exploration into the mind of our hero/antihero was my main point of interest, so when that idea faded, it became nothing more than an unrealistic, though clever, elaborate escape with a foolish ending.
