Review of The Next Karate Kid (1994) by Ian R — 01 Jan 2010
I give this movie one star for Miyagi, who is still cool and untouchable, but has gotten a little old and does feel a little off in this film with some line delivery (also, the wisdom doesn't seem as sharp, but I'll have to blame the script writers for that).
The other star goes to Michael Ironside being the bad guy and kicking the crap out of a bunch of teenagers. Unfortunately, his character is a little over the top for the story (much like the villain of the third film).
I mean, what a freakin' power trip you're on; you run a high school military training club, but you're acting like your Ed Harris in the Rock? A little much. The story is kind of lame, and so is Hilary Swank's character.
At least Miyagi still kicks the crap out of every opponent who steps infront of him.
