Review of The New World (2005) by Bastet 0 — 24 Mar 2009
Wow. This was really boring for me. The story drags very far and I think the plot description is stretching it by calling it an adventure. There is minimal adventuring vs. people starving to death and being depressed. I couldn't quite understand the reasoning behind John Smith's decision to leave Pocahontas behind. Q'Orianka is the true star of the film, impressive at just 14 years of age.
My biggest gripe about this is the soundtrack. It's rarely there but when it is, it's like a 10 second clip set on a 5 minute loop- drove me a bit crazy.
