Review of The New World (2005) by Marilyn T — 17 Jun 2011
Beautiful pastoral views contrasted by the harsh life of early settlers. The pacing is even throughout the film, so there's really no driving force or climactic ending. The cutaways between scenes to birds or tree tops kind of threads the presence of the Native Americans throughout the film.
This is a lovely, serene movie.
