Review of The New World (2005) by Mark B — 10 Jun 2013
Perhaps the only good film Colin Farrell has been in, The New World is another great film by Terrence Malick. A hallucinatory vision based on the diaries of John Smith, this film tells of the invasion of North America by murderous Englishmen, centering on the love story between Smith and Pocahontas.
Great performances from the supporting cast, including Noah Taylor and John Savage, neither of whom can be understood in modern English.
