Review of The New World (2005) by Henryw. — 07 Jul 2006
Absolutely astonishing, but I'm a big Malick fan anyway - it's something you either get or you don't. It's a deep, thoughtful, meditative film quite unlike anything that's ever been before (except Malick's previous oeuvre), but if you can't stand not seeing a car blow up or someone getting their head kicked in every five seconds it may not be for you.
Inspiring, incredible cinema, Malick is the greatest American filmmaker ever.
