Review of The New Janitor (1914) by Matt M — 05 Jul 2013
The janitor of a bank saves the day by preventing a bank robbery. Chaplin did not produce his best work during his time at Keystone, where his views on comedy filmmaking contrasted Mark Sennett's. However, it still is admirable that Chaplin is able to get an original kind of comedy from such a straight forward storyline, where characters' emotions are given time to be explored.
