Review of The New Daughter (2009) by Caroline J — 15 Jan 2012
Average movie in which John (costner) moves to a country home in Illinois with his two children to try and start a fresh. The trailer seen on scream 4 made this to look very scary, in essence there were not enough scary moments in the movie to make it memorable. Decent role by Costner in playing a father who has to watch his daughter become and her behaviour taking a rapid decline as a result of a strange 'mound' of earth nearby the house.
The mound turns out to be an ancient burial ground and those buried within are looking for a new mother figure, in turn John's daughter. Well shot movie and an intriguing look at the buried creatures near the end of the movie. Not a great deal to the plot or a chance for chractere to develop other than the 'daughter'. See if your a horror suspense fan.
