Review of The NeverEnding Story (1984) by Gavin C — 23 Apr 2011
Bastian Bux, a cowardly eight year old, coincidently steals the Neverending Story book from the library and reads it inside the old attic at a school. As he continues to read it, it shows the adventures of a young boy named Atreyu who must journey to Fantasia to give the auryn necklace to the childlike empress before the Nothing destroys the whole world along with others in this enchanting fantasy film based on the German novel "Die Unendliche Geschichte" by Michael Ende.
There on foreign, this movie has been one of the most timeless and favorite fantasy classics from the past few years. It was dark, compelling, dramatic, and had a great atmosphere with its imaginativerism. Apparently, the word "Imaginativerism" doesn't make sense, so you get the idea.
When I was a little child, I discovered a VHS tape of this movie that my mom or dad got and decided to watch it a couple of times. The pop song in the movie was so memorable that I just wanted to get the book of that movie and read it a couple of times.
Long story short, The Neverending Story is a great fantasy classic with great characters, great storytelling, great acting, and most of all, great music.
10/10.
