Review of The NeverEnding Story (1984) by Jon P — 28 Mar 2014
Blessed by the inexplicable charm that fizzes within most pre-CGI children's fantasy, Wolfgang Peterson's whimsical storybook adventure is one of many modern classics of its genre. Peterson's film is a didactic testament to the power of storytelling and imagination, but though cutesy and narratively transparent, it's never excessively preachy and always alluring and entertaining; primarily due to its retro-age animatronics and restrained budgeting.
Humility and human artistry make for fanciful fun for all the family.
