Review of The NeverEnding Story (1984) by John Eric D — 02 Jun 2015
Very nostalgic, It's like every kid's imagination made into a live action film. I'm still wondering up to now, how the hell they did all those giant stuff and those special effects. I mean what a great production value.
Those miniatures and robotics, I mean hands down to the production stuff and everything. It was all magical, it was almost surreal. This is what I missed from today's fantasies. The lost of its authenticity.
I mean CGI was ok, but too much is just bad. This film is a perfect example of great special effects with great cinematography and production value. The story was okay, as well as the performances. But the beautiful landscapes and those wonderful creatures, in the dark swamps, sky lands and beyond.
It was all beautifully made. Definitely one of the top fantasy films of all time. 4/5.
