Review of The Net (1995) by Tyrone P — 15 May 2008
1995's 'The Net' is a gripping thriller starring the talented Sandra Bullock as strong-willed Angela Bennett who becomes caught up in a murderous web of corruption and conspiracy. The reclusive computer analysts life is turned completely upside down when she receives a disk containing top secret information! Suffering a nightmare vacation and discovering that her identity has been erased and replaced with another, one with a criminal record, she becomes determined to escape 'the net' and win her life back! I have always enjoyed this film as it has many twists and turns that provide you with 'edge of your seat' entertainment! The supporting cast is also top notch, Jeremy Northam and Dennis Miller are wonderful as the suave Jack Devlin and Dr.
Alan Champion, Angela's former lover and psychiatrist. I would definitely recommend this film, plus the fantastic short lived television series starring Brooke Langton as Angela Bennett that followed, and the action-packed sequel, The Net 2.
