2016 has been a noble year for horror, with such good movies like The Conjuring 2, The Shallows, Lights Out, The Purge:Election Year, Don't Breathe, among others. But The Neon Demon doesn't make the list.
It's a weird movie, and the real problem with this flick is that it doesn't know what it wants to be. And yes, it may be well made, but the characters are paper thinly developed and it's just not a good movie.
