Review of The Neon Demon (2016) by Phillip S — 24 Jun 2016
Like most of Refn's movies, "The Neon Demon" is an exercise of style over substance. Beautiful imagery, lovely cinematography, and a great soundtrack. And while the movie touches on a variety of themes, the sub-par dialog, acting, and often uninteresting plot makes this a movie I never need to see again.
At least it's a step up from "Only God Forgives," granted that isn't saying a lot.
