Review of The Neon Demon (2016) by Fabulous H — 13 Mar 2017

Not entirely sure what to make of this one. Absolutely visually stunning, with an incredible synth-heavy score, but mostly middling performances, flat characters, and an unearned final act. Sometimes it's okay for a work to champion style over substance, and sometimes the style IS the substance, but I'm not sure I can say so here.

I was really taken with the look of the film, and the score, but did it actually have anything new or interesting to say? I'm just not sure. Three stars for glitter.
