Where “Only God Forgives” was all about aesthetic and showing off his style, “The Neon Demon” Comes with a lot more meat and a return to form in my opinion. At times the film is captivating and at times it is jarring but never dull.
Refn is an exciting filmmaker, who makes films his way. As an Auteur is does not bend to make his films more accessible to the mainstream.
