The Neon Demon benefits from great performances, terrific lighting, amazing cinematography and a surreal violent neon atmosphere. It's dark and shocking but doesn't take itself overtly serious having pitch black humor in both its violence and it's thought provoking satire in the modeling industry.
It has the feeling of a fairytale mixed in with an erotic thriller. Overall another gorgeous masterpiece by Refn.
