Review of The Neon Demon (2016) by Brad D — 23 Jun 2016

I thought it was well acted for having sort of a boring screenplay. It also had a very visually interesting style, which became less interesting (or maybe didn't carry the film as much) as time passed.

Everything else fell pretty flat to me. There were several funny moments but I feel like it was unintentional? This movie wasn't confusing per se, but I struggled to understand the point if there was one.

Beauty and objectification is..shallow? I didn't feel like this presented an entertaining or interesting spin on that at all. Kind of dull in terms of drama, horror or anything else. Side note- I couldn't help noticing the monogram of the director in the movie title which I thought was hilarious.
