Review of The Neon Demon (2016) by Ca Cougar M — 28 Nov 2016
The theme is unoriginal, the execution devoid of real substance. It's 'Pretty Little Liars' turned into a feature. Catered to a generation that idolizes Instagram-ready beauty and femme-fatale aesthetic- complete with knives, neon lights, glitter, blood and vaginas.
The symbolism is so on the nose it almost makes you laugh, if you weren't simultaneously trying to keep from gagging due to the unnecessary necrophilia scene, a pathetic portrayal of the scorned lesbian.
