Review of The Negotiator (1998) by Ryan V — 14 May 2012
Samuel L. Jackson is a heroic cop who is framed for murder and embezzlement. He then decides to take the Internal Affairs Department hostage until the truth comes forth. Kevin Spacey is a negotiater who is brought in to handle the situation, but things take a turn that nobody (except the audience) could see coming.
This crime thriller is quite melodramatic, but it works more often than it doesn't. The main reason it's watchable, however, are the fine performances from both Jackson and Spacey.
