Review of The Negotiator (1998) by Natalie F — 16 Nov 2012
A seriously under-hyped film which can be considered one of the best pre-CGI pumped action films, this is probably because it came out a little later that Die Hard, Speed and other classic action staples.
The Negotiator is utterly satisfying, although a little bit empty on the actual explosions, it fully makes up with it with intense dialogue and Who Dunnit plot twists. The film is not predictable, and anyone who thinks it is, is failing to recognise how modern films have mirrored this set up opposed to this being yet another thriller.
All in all The Negotiator made its mark, but deserves more recognition. Go watch it now and agree with me.
