Review of The Negotiator (1998) by President P — 07 Jul 2013
A very well done suspenseful crime drama with enough memorable moments to spare. The Negotiator is based on the real life events of the St. Louis police department scandal in the 80s and 90s, yet the film is centered in Chicago, for unknown reasons. If anything Samuel L Jackson gives a memorable performance with Kevin Spacey close behind. The cast is very good and believable in any situation thrown at them. The story makes the two hour thirty minute run very tolerable and at times very interesting. As you could probably tell the writing and direction is great and does well making the film fairly memorable.
The Negotiator isn't exactly the greatest crime film ever made, but provides plenty of good entertainment to go around.
