Review of The Negotiator (1998) by Jerry F — 18 Jan 2015
A hell of a popcorn flick that's never short on excitement.
Samuel L. Jackson and Kevin Spacey do wonders together.
And considering this is based on a real-life case involving the St. Louis police department it makes it that much more riveting.
Danny is living the life as a cop with a few of his buddies and having a caring wife.
But when his partner is killed after revealing an inside-job in the precint he goes all out in order to clear his name and find the ones involved.
He just doesn't want his life to be in shambles and he wants justice the only way he knows how.
Chris comes in as his negotiator to try and avoid as many casualties as possible and without letting the police and the FBI make things more difficult.
The stakes get higher and higher with each passing moment.
Who's guilty, who killed Danny's partner, and who is involved?
There are a few plot-holes and contrivances to be had but the movie is still a sharp nail-biter and actionier.
